Cape Town based tattoo artist, designer and art collector Milo Marcer, makes the effort to travel overseas annually to keep in touch with trends and happenings. Deeply immersed in retro- and hotrod-culture, this year’s trip to Italy held some interesting discoveries.

Now going into its fourth year, the Cape Town International Tattoo Convention has quickly become one of the most important events of its kind in Southern hemisphere. Over the past three years, it has attracted over 150 tattoo artists from over twenty different countries, hosted seven different major art events, produced eight concerts, and seen almost 20,000 tattoo-hungry South Africans pass through its doors.
